Thank you for checking out “The Wood!” We pride ourselves in being a locally owned, family business. We started in the late 1960’s when L.C Lucas decided to turn his dream into a reality, by building a golf course on family farm land. Now in 2024, we’re on 3rd generation ownership! On any given day you come out, chances are Rock (2nd generation) and Daniel (3rd generation) will be out working on the course, just look for a yellow lab, black lab, and gsp running around and you’ll know it’s us! It’s our promise to you we are working extremely hard to give you the best playing conditions possible and most importantly, the best value golf course in the Midlands! 

We like to say Charwood is “Where Golf Is Fun!”… We encourage music as long as it stays in your group. We have usb ports in our carts for charging your devices and we have music playing on our driving range and practice areas making for a super laid back atmosphere. We have no pool and no tennis, we are about pure golf at The Wood! We built all new practice facilities including a chipping green, large putting green, and a short game area featuring a green, bunker, and length up to 70 yard wedge shots.
